International Gender Coordinator: 3-year contract

ActionAid is a leading international NGO working in 35 countries in
Africa, Asia and Latin America, with a supporter base of over half a
million people in Europe, and partners in Spain, Ireland, France, Italy
and Greece. Our overall mission is to work with poor and marginalized
people to eradicate poverty by overcoming the injustice and inequity
that cause it.

The ActionAid strategy, Fighting Poverty Together, has a strong emphasis
on addressing gender issues, and the ActionAid Gender Policy articulates
ways in which throughout the organisation, work on gender equity will be
progressed.

The international gender co-ordinator post is a new role, which has been
created to help ActionAid to strengthen its influencing, lobbying and
research on gender issues at an international level, to ensure that
gender initiatives in relation to human resources, programme and policy
work are acted upon across the organisation, and to facilitate
networking, knowledge building, learning and solidarity on gender issues
throughout ActionAid.

We are looking for someone who has a deep knowledge of international
instruments and structures/organizations used for promotion of women's
rights, strong relationships with international institutions and
networks working on gender, and experience at international or regional
level of promoting, lobbying and campaigning for women's rights. The
successful candidate will have strong and effective facilitation and
communication skills, with proven ability to negotiate and influence
change.

Location: The post can be located in any country where ActionAid is
currently present.

Salary Range: A314,000 - A323,000
